Most Korean artists don't really talk about their religion or beliefs openly, therefore information about Korean artists who are Muslim and fasting may be hard to find or limited. However, some Korean artists have openly expressed their Islamic faith. Here are some Korean artists who are known to be Muslim and may have been fasting:

Ayana Jihye Moon

A beautiful Korean woman named Ayana Jihye Moon or better known as Ayana Moon is a Muslim convert. The celebrity and advertising star born on December 28, 1995 summarized her journey to become a Muslim in a book entitled "Ayana: Journey to Islam". The former girl group personnel decided to convert to Islam after graduating from high school at the age of 16.

Ayana Moon was the first in her family to convert to Islam, but now her younger sister, Aydin Moon, is following in her sister's footsteps and fasting, which she often shares on her personal Instagram account.

Song Bora

Another Korean artist who is a Muslim is Song Bora since 2007 or 17 years ago. Of course, fasting in the month of Ramadan is no longer a foreign thing for this hijab celebrity. Ong Bora is known to have majored in Arabic. From there, he was moved to explore Islam. Even now Song Bora is reportedly working as a teacher of Islam and Arabic at Arab Academy Korea.

Song Bora actively shares da'wah about Islam through her personal Instagram account. In addition, she also owns a restaurant that sells Korean halal food.

Safiyah Kang

Just like Ayana Moon and Song Bora, South Korean celebrity Safiyah Kang wears a hijab after converting to Islam. Safiyah Kang was moved to embrace Islam after years of working at the Korean Muslim Federation.

This Muslim Korean actress has the real name Kang Na Yeon. She is quite active on social media and always spreads various things about Islam through her Instagram account. Besides being a celebrity, Safiyah Kang is known to run a halal food stall business in Korea, namely a halal tteokbokki outlet in front of the Seoul Central Mosque.

Ujung Oppa

Ujung Oppa, one of the South Korean YouTubers, decided to convert to Islam after hearing the chanting of sholawat from Sabyan Gambus and often listening to the sound of the call to prayer which was so melodious after he was in Indonesia. The man whose real name is Hwang Woo Joong admitted his interest in Islam since the age of 14. However, limited information and environment made him undo the intention of studying Islam.

It is known that Ujung Oppa  was married to an Indonesian citizen on August 8, 2021, named Kania Permatasari. And, this year is the 3rd year of fasting.

Manny Varsity

Manny is a member of a 12-member Korean boy band called Varsity, which has reportedly disbanded since 2019. The KPOP idol from Xiao Daocheng was arguably the first to reveal that he is Muslim. In an interview, one of the members said that Manny does not eat pork because he is a Muslim.

Manny also does not consume alcohol because of his religious restrictions. In addition, he once posted a photo on social media when going to worship at the mosque.  

Daud Kim

This South Korean Youtuber has embraced Islam since 2019 and is also fasting. Before venturing into a famous YouTuber named Jay Kim, he was a singer or former K-Pop idol trainee. The owner of the real name Jaehan Kim once shared the first fasting video in the Holy Land.

Mia Lee

Mia Lee is one of the South Korean celebrities who is Muslim and fasts. Mia Lee decided to convert to Islam following in the footsteps of her husband, Daud Kim, as well as returning to her family roots. According to her confession, Mia Lee has long known Islam because her grandfather who came from Kyrgyzstan is a Muslim. Until now, Mia Lee remains active as a Youtuber in the Indonesian entertainment world.
